The labyrinth they've wandered into, in different years and from different directions, is filled with wonders and mortal dangers. Talking dragons and flying reindeer. An evil sorcerer who can bend time to his will. A tree-man who guards the Black Forest. The captain of an airborne pirate ship with a secret weapon he stole from heaven. Even death itself.

And they have a secret ally: the headmistress of an Academy for magically gifted students who knows how to travel through time - and who has visited the labyrinth before. Can she help bring these two lost orphans together and repair a fateful flaw in history? The world is depending on them. If they can't accomplish their mission, the Academy will never even exist in the first place. And the Academy is everything. Will they succeed? Time will tell. And it's running out.

PATHFINDER OF DESTINY

$14.95 paperback, $4.95 ebook - Cassidy hadn’t asked for this. She was a loner. An asthmatic, claustrophobic C-student from Detroit with one real friend and no real talent. Or so she thought. But the kindly and mysterious Mrs. Giles knows better. She knows Cassidy has a special gift, and that she needed a special school to develop it.

Now, Cassidy finds herself at the Academy of the Lost Labyrinth, surrounded by other students who can travel through time, walk through dreams, change shapes and manipulate memories. But she feels more alone than ever, because something is going terribly wrong at the Academy, and only she can fix it.
The problem is, she has no idea how.

The Memortality Saga

PART 1: MEMORTALITY
PART 2: PARALUCIDITY

“Part psychedelic journey, part conspiracy theory, Memortality is an unforgiving fantasy about unfulfilled desire and overcoming unimaginable obstacles. ... Punchy and fast paced, Memortality reads like a graphic novel. Its short chapters are exciting, well plotted, and compelling. Provost, a reporter, is a no-nonsense writer who delivers on the action without ruminating too much on character motivation or description. His style makes the trippy landscapes and mind-bending plot points more believable and adds a thrilling edge to the novel.”

— Foreword Reviews

“This creative … contemporary fantasy opens with a fascinating scenario. Short chapters make the suspenseful plot speed along … Provost’s debut novel shows promise.”

— Publishers Weekly

THEY WANT HER FOR HER MIND ...

Minerva Rus can raise the dead. And just it might get her killed.

Minerva’s life hasn't been the same since the childhood car accident that paralyzed her and killed her best friend, Raven. But when the long-dead Raven reappears in her life, now as a very attractive grown man, she discovers that her photographic memory has the power to bring the dead back to life ... heal her paralysis ... and shape reality itself.

I was honored that Linden, publisher of Fresno Growing Up, chose Memortality is the first novel for its fiction imprint, Pace Press. It's my first novel in exactly four years, following "Identity Break," my fiction premiere.

Memortality is an action/adventure novel set in present-day Southern California, where Minerva has just discovered she possesses a rare ability: She can use her eidetic memory as a catalyst to bring people she's known in the past back from the dead. She soon finds herself pursued by a rogue spy and a deep-cover assassin intent on harnessing her power for their own purposes. There's little time to master her newfound abilities, but that's exactly what she has to do if she hopes to stay one step ahead of her greatest enemy - and keep Raven alive. It isn't long before she finds herself faced with life-or-death decisions that could define her destiny, the fate of her friends and perhaps the course of human history.

Minerva is a take-no-prisoners hero in the tradition of Hermione Granger, Katniss Everdeen, Natasha Romanov, Princess Leia and Alyssa Gonzalez from Samaire Wynne's Mad World trilogy. If you've been waiting for a new kind of paranormal adventure that's packed with action and delivers romance with a dash of humor, check out Memortality. You can pre-order it today on Amazon, and it will be available February 1, 2017, online and at fine bookstores everywhere.

“Memortality by Stephen Provost is a highly original, thrilling novel unlike anything else out there. From the haunting prologue to the thrilling conclusion, Provost has crafted an engaging, brilliant yarn that will keep you glued to the page until the very end. Stephen is clearly an author at the top of his game.”

— David McAfee, bestselling author of "33 A.D.," "61 A.D." and "79 A.D."

“A rich and complex world, with an ever-twisting and an immensely compelling story, Memortality is a terrific science fiction thriller that imprints on your mind like an unforgettable snapshot.”

— John Palisano, Bram Stoker® Award-winning author of Nerves and Ghost Heart

“Memortality takes a concept we’ve all dreamed of and turned it into our worst nightmare. Innovative terror at its best.”

— Bram Stoker® Award-winner Michael Knost, author of "Return of the Mothman"

“Fans of The Running Dream will love Minerva, a feisty protagonist with a special gift for helping the dead, who embarks on an action-packed adventure as she attempts to save her loved ones.”

— Alexandria Constantiova Szeman, award-winning author of "The Kommandant's Mistress"

FROM THE PUBLISHER

When Minerva Rus’ dead childhood friend returns to life, she discovers she has the power to raise the dead — plunging her into amazing possibilities and terrifying danger.

Memortality is a genre-breaking new contemporary fantasy novel that poses one of the most frightening questions of all — what if the dead don’t stay dead? We all fantasize about reuniting with lost loved ones, but would any of us want to be responsible for wielding such power? And if good people can be revived, what about evil ones?

Featuring an intrepid, take-charge female protagonist who lets nothing — not disability, not death, not loss and heartbreak — stand in her way, Memortality blends fantasy, mystery, espionage and romance in a compelling story that will keep readers gripped until the final, startling revelation.

IDENTITY BREAK

$13.95 paperback, $4.95 ebook - How far would you go to find yourself? Imagine everything you thought you knew about yourself turned out to be a lie, and you didn’t know who was telling the truth. Imagine you possessed a secret so dangerous that, if it were exposed, it would reshape the entire world. What would you do if that secret were your very identity? In almost every way, Palo Vista seems like a typical California city, with office buildings, schools, and homes sprawled out across suburbia, filled with families making a life for themselves at the dawn of the new millennium. But two seniors at Mt. MacMurray High are about to find out that nothing is as it seems. Jason Nix is a star athlete and honors student who can’t seem to remember anything about his childhood. Elyse Van Auten is a budding artist from a broken home whose father left her mother two years ago - or so she’s been led to believe. Like most teens entering adulthood, Elyse and Jason just want to find out who they really are. For them, however, the stakes go far beyond their own personal quest. Join them on a journey of self-discovery that becomes a desperate fight for survival against enemies determined to conceal the truth … and find out what happens when that fight becomes personal. 354 pages

ARTIFICE

The year is 2058. Humanity is in a race against time to save itself from a climate crisis that has spun out of control, leaving millions dead from heat stroke and exposure. But Tim, a teenager growing up in Silicon Valley, has an advantage: his father heads the world’s largest corporation and has the power to keep him safe. Unfortunately, he’s not much of a father. In fact, he’s a self-absorbed workaholic who has no time - and no respect - for Tim. At least Tim has his girlfriend, Annie, who grew up with him and helped him get through the worst that his father and the rest of the world threw at him. Now, however, they find their lives spiraling out of control in a whirlwind of corporate intrigue and cutthroat power plays that could cost both of them their lives and threaten humanity’s very existence. What choice do you make when you run out of options? Whom do you trust in a game of deceit? Sometimes, it all comes down to a fight for survival. But the price for survival can be high. Would you trade your life for love? Your honor for hope? If you wind up with a raw deal, a bluff can win the hand, but when the stakes are love and honor, you may be forced to choose between the truth … and artifice. A companion novella to Identity Break.
